Setting up the tone for Photoshop: (Instructions for Adobe Photoshop 6.1)

1. Open the particular tone image in Photoshop
2. Select the entire image by pressing Ctrl+A
3. Go to the menu Edit> Define Pattern...
4. Enter whatever name you'd like for the tone

The tone is now ready for use in Photoshop. Repeat for each of the tones you're planning to use.

To Use:

1. Select the area you'd like to fill with tone with any of the selection tools
2. Go to the menu Edit> Fill...
3. In the Fill box: In the Contents area, in the Use dropdown menu, select Pattern
4. In the Custom Pattern box undeneath the Use dropdown menu, select the tone you'd like to use.
5. Hit OK button. The are you selected will now be filled with the tone pattern.
